Today’s Focus: Receiving Power
QUESTIONS:
We just read about the life and death of Stephen. Acts 7:54 says, “Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of the Lord, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.” Stephen was focused. Not on the temporal or worldly things. He was consumed with an undying love for the glory of God and had an intense stare only at Jesus. The Holy Spirit empowered Stephen in an incredible way to stand for Christ.
Today, we are going to stare at the glory of God and into the face of Christ. We truly become what we behold. Beholding God’s glory and power makes his power available to us by faith.
Take a 30-minute walk or run today, or just sit alone for 30 minutes and think only of the glory of God and Christ. Fill your mind with only these thoughts and let them consume you. Let the story of Stephen fill your mind. After doing this, journal here about your experience.
